Competing and personal growth

Competing has made me grow so much as both an individual and professional. I didn’t think in a millions years I would ever be able to go thru a 12 week prep for a bodybuilding competition. Yes, I love fitness and have been working out for some time and you would think that would come naturally, but competing is much, much more than just being fit. Most importantly it forces you to be mentally fit.

The practice of following a strict diet, hard daily lifting, intense cardio, practicing difficult posing techniques, all while having a natural stage presence in a tiny bikini in front of hundreds of people. I’m sure the process is different for everyone but for me personally the dedication and struggle woke something within me and made me grow in all areas of my life. The process showed me I can accomplish things I never felt possible and motivated me in all aspects of my life.

You don’t have to actually compete to accomplish great things in fitness but setting personal goals for yourself is a must. Whether it be an extra set, lifting a bit more or pushing a little further, every little win you accomplish can add so much positivity in your life.

Enjoy the journey!
